Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston and his wife Elizabeth Holloway Marston for DC Comics becoming one of the first and most famous comic's heroines.She stood for independent female values and made her first appearance in 1941 in All Stars Comics # 8.

Wonder Woman was born in Paradise Island and grew up as princess Diana of the Amazon warrior tribe. She won a tournament which was held in order to choose the most powerful Amazon who would travel to humans' world and would help good people to fight against the Nazis' evil. In addition to her superhuman strength she was armed with a magic lasso and bulletproof bracelets.

Wonder Woman's character was featured in a popular adaptation made for television from 1975 to 1979 played by Lynda Carter and also in the animated series "Super Friends" and "Justice League". Nowadays there are plans to make a film for cinema as well.
